The six-figure meltdown. Have you ever had one of those? I’ve had many, and certainly have had many leaders within our organisations have them. So, what is a six-figure meltdown? I feel, there’s a real emotional and mental boundary that we cross as we start achieving six-figure results in our network marketing business, and sometimes that causes even a plateau. Our income plateaus, perhaps just below $10,000 a month or just over $10,000 a month, and I remember Miguel and I going through this and being completely overwhelmed. First of all, we had more and more people we needed to help in our organisation, we had to do more and more events, more and more calls, more and more three-way calls. We just didn’t know what else to do, and so we were working 14 to 16 hours a day while our income was basically plateauing, and we didn’t know what to do.
I see people going through this many, many times, and it’s really about the fact that what got you to six figures is not going to get you further and scale it to multiple six or seven figures. So, you really need to start to understand, just like in any traditional business, in network marketing there are specific activities, strategies, and skills we need to focus on to create figures in the end to go onwards from there. One specific strategy is going to be creating duplication systems. As you’re close to six figures, as you’re achieving six figures per year in your network marketing business, it’s going to become increasingly important for you to create a duplication system for yourself and your team so you can leverage time, become more duplicatable in how you’re working, you and your team, so that you can then scale your income as you decrease the time that you’re working.
So, if you don’t already have processes and systems in place that automate certain activities so that you can focus on the most income-producing things, such as creating relationships, mentoring leaders, and helping people sponsor, then, of course you’re getting into overwhelm, and that’s where the six-figure meltdown comes from. I know that you’re not going to have one after this video, and I certainly wish you will think really carefully about how you can create a duplication system.
