Is There A Secret To Duplication?

Is there a secret to duplication? Well if I was to say, what is the secret to duplication, I would say just one word, simplicity. We as human beings, we tend to complicate things. This profession is very, very simple. It’s not easy because it means that you need to get out of your comfort zone. We need to do things that we’re not used to, yet we need to find a way for us to get those things done so we can get the results.

Now the secret to duplication, that means to get other people to do what you do and to get other people that they know to do what they do and doing that over and over and over again, that’s duplication. So it’s one simple thing repeated by one, two, three, four, thousands and thousands of people and yet hopefully you don’t need to be necessarily involved in the process all the time.

So if I was to pick one secret, one thing that I think makes a huge difference in duplication, I would say simplicity. What does simplicity really mean? It means that having a clear process on how, for example, you need to do or your people, your team, will have to do the recruiting side of it. How they’re going to build that relationship. How they’re going to prospect and show the opportunity. Another big part is how they’re going to train that brand new person or how you’re going to train that brand new person so they’re able in the future to train other people.

From my perspective and Masa’s perspective obviously based on our experience, I think in terms of training. In terms of recruiting we always say there are three very simple steps. You’re going to invite. You’re going to show the presentation and then you’re going to do the follow-up, but the way you’re going to do that it could be in a very “automated way”. Inviting with a very simple couple of phrases that people can learn. A very simple script and we can talk about that. You probably can see one of these. One video there is around here with the actual script, but a very simple script on how to recruit, how to invite. The presentation it could be on a video and then the follow-up they can have also a very simple set of questions that anybody can follow.

So recruiting, that would be one thing. A very clear process for recruiting. A very clear process for training. Within the training, we believe there are six very distinctive timelines in your business. There is not the same training that you need to do for the brand new person that just gets started as the training that you will be doing for somebody that has been in the business for three months. So it kind of makes sense that you divide and you break down that training into at least six timelines.

Six timelines could be, or they are at least based on our experience, the six timelines will be the first hour in the business, the first day in the business, the first week, so the first seven days, the first month, the first 90 days and the first year. Those would be the six timelines. Those are very specific things that you would be training on these people as they go through those steps and those timelines in your business.

So going back to what is the secret to duplication? I would say simplicity. Simplicity and clarity on the process that anyone can follow and nobody really complicates as human beings that we all tend to. So simplicity is the key to duplication.
