How to create a team of 100 fast from scratch.
Many times we get asked that question, if something happened today to your business, how would you start all over again?
Or, how would you build a team if you had to start from scratch? How would you build a team fast? If I was to build a team from scratch today, and my goal would be 100 people, there are a few things that I would do. Again, there is no right or wrong. This is what I would personally do, together with Masa, obviously.
First of all, we would reach out to people, and obviously build more relationships faster through social media. I think the online world gives you an opportunity to reach out to more people, faster. The most important thing, and I think the biggest misconception that people have is that they can build a solid team by just purely doing social media.
I tend to disagree because for me personally, there’s nothing like that personal relationship when you have somebody physically there with you. And I don’t mean I need to be physically with every single person in my team, but somehow I think when you have home presentations, or you have events, people get together, and there is something that happens in those events. It’s like going to a concert, there’s something that happens when you go to a concert that is so different from that CD or that Spotify or that something that you’ve been listening to online.
When you go to that event, that concert, there is something. Being with other people there, it gives you that feeling, that emotion, that belief. I think when you’re building your business, if I had to build a team, a solid team of 100 people fast, I would reach out to people through social media. I would never forget about referrals. And how I ask for referrals, obviously, is always in a very polite way, and I would make sure that that person is at ease, that I’m gonna treat that referral with the biggest respect so this person doesn’t lose their relationship because they cannot provide that referral to me.
That would be the second thing. And the third and most important thing, and here’s where some people may not agree, but this is what I would do, and what we’ve done in the past, obviously, is I would run a home meeting every single day.
I would probably start once a week, and as the team grows, I would increase the amount of home meetings that I would have. And then what I would do, I would duplicate those home meetings in every single hub that I’m building a team. Where I live now here in Brisbane Australia, I would have a home meeting once a week here in Brisbane, so everybody that is in Brisbane would come to my home meeting, and if I had somebody saying that even in a different country, for example, I would have people to attend that city and that person’s home presentation, or home meeting. I think there is such an important thing to have a live event, whether that’s a home meeting or a presentation once a month with your company. There is something with those events where people actually commit, and cement their belief.
And I think if I was to build that team as fast as possible, reach out social media, never forget about referrals, who do you know?
The third thing, and most important is that I would make sure that I run, no matter what, a home presentation for myself and my team. And then I would duplicate that with the rest of the people that come into my team.
