What is the difference between a manager and a leader? Well in network marketing we all need to become increasingly very clear on what is a manager and what is a leader. And in network marketing, we know that, to get really massive results we need to be increasing our leadership. But sometimes we’re still managing. Sometimes we still need to do activities where we’re managing so a manager typically manages productivity of others and this typically happens in a position where they’re employed by a corporate job whereas a leader is somebody that is able to lead people with their leadership and their example.
And that’s typically what is more needed in our network marketing business. If you’re somebody who’s already a six figure earner or even a seven figure earner and you want to increase your leadership, you may want to really ask yourself, “What example do I need to give to my top 30 leaders in my organisation for them to want to be more, to expand more, to do more, to take massive action and want to go to the next rank in my company?” And quite often the answer is you need to develop yourself more. You need to seek further leadership. You need to seek further personal and professional development to feed your own leadership.
We all know that it’s not good to slip into the managing position. We’re not going to be telling people what to do. That’s not going to get us results. But how do we increase that leadership? I think it’s really all about becoming more. It’s really about seeking better mentorship and actually expanding our horizons of what leadership really means and how can we not only help people to become more but how can we become more? Because it’s all about being able to choose a direction and inspire others to follow that direction in becoming more for themselves.
