Should I advertise on Facebook for my network marketing business? Well, this is a really important topic and probably is going to be slightly controversial what I actually explain. Full disclosure, first of all, I have personally never advertised on Facebook for my network marketing business in all 12 or so years that I have been in this profession. While that does not mean it is not a good idea, I just want to share that it is absolutely possible to create great success in network marketing without ever having to place a Facebook ad. Now, times are changing, you may say. Perhaps you’re really great already at Facebook advertising but I wanted to share in this video why I think you need to ask a few important questions before you leap into doing a lot of Facebook advertising.
Anything that you ever do within your network marketing business may be great to recruit people, but guess what? It’s not what works to recruit, it’s what duplicates. Because if you’re really here for the long term, if you’re really planning to build a large organization that can scale your income to seven figures and above annually, then what you should be asking is whether any paid advertising that you create leads with is going to be highly duplicatable. So, I have a few reservations with any kind of paid advertising.
Number one. Is there going to be a specific skill that the person that I sponsor through this advertising is going to have to acquire before they can duplicate me? If I sponsor Peter through this Facebook advertising tomorrow and he comes to me and says, “Okay, great. When do I set up the ads?” Perhaps I can help him to set them up, but what about when my organization has thousands and thousands of people who have to learn this? We all know it takes some time and some skill.
The other reservation I have is the money investment. Network marketing is typically a business where it doesn’t require a large financial investment. It requires more of a time investment over time, a certain amount of time over time invested, so that you can create larger residual incomes, and that’s why it’s so powerful. For me, a lot of the top leaders that I’ve had in my organization over the last 12 years certainly didn’t come into my team saying, “I have a few 500 extra dollars this month to be able to put into advertising so I can get new leads.”
While paid advertising is very powerful and you may already be skillful, I would ask myself: “Is this duplicatable and how do I actually drive Facebook advertising into creating better relationships with these prospects”? Because as you well know, as network marketers, we get paid for the quality of the relationships that we build. The better the relationship before we try and recruit someone, the more successful we will be, and even further on, the better organization and the better income we will experience long term. Ask yourself some of these good questions before you leap into putting a lot of money, skill, and time behind Facebook advertising.
